It isn’t for everyone to be ordained--- |
|
--- and not everybody wants or could cope with being in the
foreground, front-line church ministries which we all associate with leadership
in the church.
Nevertheless, we’re all in this together and at the church of Christ the King,
Battyeford, we believe there’s a role and a place for everyone in the life and –
yes – in the ministry of the church. Personnel in engine rooms are just as
important as those on the bridge. Without them we go nowhere.
In a visit to somebody’s house, the vicar asked what the person did in the life
of the church and the reply was “I only make the tea sometimes”. Well, nobody
“only” makes tea! We fit together in this church in a complex jigsaw making, we
hope, a Godly picture to hang on the community’s wall.
But you may feel you want to develop your own ministry a bit – and there’s no
harm in talking more about it. Perhaps a chat with the vicar is right – but you
may feel others in the church could also help you think it out. There’s no need
always to “think vicar” when you need to look forward on these things.
Eventually you may need to speak with him, but not always first…(See our
"Who's Who" page for ideas.)
